Men of Reddit, how do you feel about the term 'toxic masculinity'?

“Being a man is about providing and protecting and being a good partner, a god father, a good friend. It's about showing up to help your buddy move, it's about bringing tools to your neighbour and helping build their deck. It's about standing tall when you see injustice.”

To me, what you described there is toxic masculinity. As a man, I must always be there for others; to help them with whatever they need and protect them from all wrongs. I must be this stoic, unshakeable pillar to all. I must not break down, or feel exhausted, or even think I might need help. I must push everything down and get back to work for the aake of my family.

And that gets toxic real fast.
