Men, whats the most hurtful thing you’ve overheard about yourself by accident?

Lmao okay.

I was wrongfully accused of violent rape at 18. I attempted to do exactly this, confronted her in a public setting very strongly. It created enormous backlash. I was physically beaten, had my property damaged, was harassed at work. She escalated the issue and filed a police report. She failed the rape kit, had no bruises, did not have any DNA under fingernails, and had not had vaginal intercourse in the detectable time frame (72 hours? I think). She changed her story with the cops and said I held her down, and I shit you not, forcibly performed fellatio and digital penetration. The police wanted to talk to me and my lawyer vehemently denied me making a statement. He had a great track record, so I listened to him. 48 hours later I had charges against me for object rape, which carries a 15-life sentence in my state.

Over the years, she changed her story on record 5 times. And publicly slandered me relentlessly. I can’t go back to my high school town without getting shit. I fully intended on going to trial, but I wound up taking a plea deal (sex abuse, no jail, 2 years probation, 10 year registry) because the court of public opinion has made its case against people accused of sexual assault for any reason. Also at the urging of my fiancé. I hired a defense lawyer that specialized in my sort of case and he told me that when I hired him in 2016, a sizable majority of the cases of sexual assault he picked up he beat at trial. He said in 2019, none of the cases of sexual assault he had tried at trial had won. This wasn’t a commentary on his performance but rather rapidly shifting public opinion on rape.

The worst part is a month ago she publicly stated that she fabricated the story for attention with some stupid fucking sappy sob story and fake shitty apology attached to it and my appeal was denied.

So yeah this is a fucking awful idea.
