I met my wife in London when she was 19 and I was 23. We got married 6 months after meeting and she moved to the US to be with me and go to school. Her parents have never forgiven me for stealing their baby girl away because her big brother was killed young and her older sister had already moved to the US. So she was their last kid at home and it was a bit much for them. We get along fine, but there is not much warmth there and they blame me for us never having children even though we had both decided to be child free before meeting each other. It is just easier to hate me I think than to blame her for leaving.
