Men who had their first romantic experience later in their life (mid 20s and later), what is your life story? What happened?

Well, I didn't have my first relationship until years after college, and even that was pretty much a blink and you miss it moment.

So back in school I was pretty regularly bullied as far back as I can remember, and it was mostly by girls. By the time highschool started I'd decided things weren't going to get better in grade school and there was no reason to even bother until college. I just did my best to not be noticed in the mean time.

Of course when college finally came I had no idea what I was doing. A lot of things didn't help. Computer Science and Math major. The bad luck of being in the all male dorm. My hobbies and interests were all heavily male skewed. Pretty much the only time I interacted with girls was while I still had core classes, and nothing came of that. Wasn't until like Junior year I really decided I needed to take a more active role in that part of my life, but it was too little too late for anything to come of it in college.

Since then, I don't know, it just took a long time for things to fall into place I guess. They still haven't really to be honest. My interests haven't changed, so as much as I enjoy them, they still aren't doing me any favors in this one area. I've got a job I love, make a lot of money... but only like three women have worked here the entire time I've been here, and they're all older with husbands and kids. I do a lot of online dating, but most of online dating is just waiting. Got a pretty big social circle, but that doesn't lead to many opportunities. The guys are obviously guys, and the girls are another friend's girlfriend.

My only success so far was about two years ago now. Friend of a friend moved back to the area and we were introduced. Pretty quickly hit it off better than I have with anyone before, male or female. Asked her out soon enough. Things were great for about a month and a half, then one day she just gave me the "its not you it's me" and that was the end of it.
