And this, ladies and gents, is what we call "fake news". Well maybe not news, but the direct result of it anyway.

It is technically true that Trump didn't show because of the rain, but pushing only that part of the story is misleading and turns the story into dishonest propaganda.

A more complete and honest picture of what happened would mention that Trump had other important meetings that prevented him from getting there by car or other slower means of transportation, so he had planned to get there by helicopter. The helicopter could not safely fly in the weather that occurred.

Therefore while it is technically true that Trump did not attend because of the rain, it would be more accurate to say that Trump did not attend because it would have been reckless and unsafe for him, his pilot, his entourage, etc to attempt the journey.

The good thing about this story is it is a good gauge of whether you can trust your news source. If wherever you get your news mentioned the rain but failed to mention the helicopter or why the helicopter was the only option then you know you were reading fake news made to manipulate you and you should find a more reliable news source.

Furthermore, I know I will get downvoted so let me say this: Not once in this comment have I supported Trump or Republicans, only truth, accuracy, and fairness in reporting. This should be a bipartisan goal.
