Men with modest factory jobs, what do you do? Do you like it? How much do you make? Do you work overtime?

Not sure if this counts but I do night logistics for a distribution centre.

What do you do? Basically manage the import and export of inventory. Allocating trucks to bays, overseeing product changes but also un/loading trucks too if everything else is done. The more senior segment of it is I'm also in charge of security, fire, health and safety along with that.

Do you like it? yeah... I guess. It's not what I want to do forever, definitely not my career choice, I'm working towards that. But for what it is, it's an easy, quiet stress-free job which good pay. Some days can drag quite a bit, but I just think back to when I worked customer service jobs and was basically being treated like shit for scraps, makes me realise my job isn't so bad after all. it's quite physically demanding though. But it's good, I go in, do some shift transfer paperwork then the rest is basically just chatting while unloading and reloading trailers.

How much do you make? Good pay, not gonna say the exact. The base rate is a little bit above minimum wage, but I get extra's stacked on top. 40% bonus for doing night shift, then the security, fire and H&S all count as 3 separate extra's which give me a varying bonus on each. I only work 3 days a week so I can travel and study more, but just in those 3 days I make a decent bit more than the average salary here.

Do you work overtime? Only if I need money. Say I'm going on holiday next month, or something on my car broke and I want to top my savings back up, then I'll do some extra shifts, but generally, I value time more than money so I'd rather just have the time off.
