Fair enough, but why then are there little to no female construction workers? Even in liberal countries where gender roles are being eroded, you will mostly see male plumbers, electricians, builders, etc., have a guess at why.

It is not about gratification. It is about work and survival. It is about having success in society in terms of earning potential, and ultimately mate attraction which at it's primal instinctive core thrives on gender roles, no matter how "rational" we human beings are. Dating studies are out there, so is the world around us where no one can deny than women are attracted to stability and power as much as guys are to youth and caring personas.
