I won’t get into the legal stuff, but I will say, for propane sells it is a HUGE fine to sell un-odorized loads. We test them using Draeger test tubes every time we get warned that we are cutting it close.
There’s different types of plants. I work at a Natural Gas Processing and Oil Stabilization Plant. From the well, usually it is separated Into oil, gas, water. The gas comes to our plant to be separated into Methane, Ethane, Propane, Butane, Iso Butane, etc. We send IsoButane to the refinery next door to make gasoline.
I worked at said refinery before this. They receive raw crude oil to separate into gasoline, diesels, asphalt, coke, etc. Refinery are much more complex and require more than just “separating”. They require catalysts and stuff to actually make gasoline.
