The Conservative party at the time under Cameron was actually favourable to Turkeys ascension into the EU. They were actually in favour of fast tracking their progress. I’m not sure of T Mays current position on it. That lady don’t say or do much. Maggie Thatcher she is not.
Not related to turkey but, Fuck the EU army. What an insult to the history and legacy of the sovereign defence forces of the individual member states. Nobody is going to join the army knowing they’d be part of a European defence force. They won’t have the numbers. Great way to undercut NATO as well.
