Messed up this fudge and it looks like fried chicken

My wife eyeballs it when cooking. Never measures a single thing. And her food comes out great. My relatives rave about it.

Her pastries on the other hand, were awful. They looked terrible and tasted worse. It was a chore to force them while looking like I enjoyed them.

Some months ago, I offhand read a similar reddit comment to her where someone talked about baking being a science. She had a eureka moment and she then started following the recipe to a tee, like measuring ingredients and following every single step as indicated. The first two cakes took her six or seven hours.

Now, family members have started secretly paying her to bake for family parties. Secretly, because no one wants the sister-in-law who's a professional baker to find out that they prefer my wife's cakes.

Baking is totally 95% science.
