[META] About the Naming rule and the end of the Partner program

I would like to remind everyone that it is illegal to condemn or punish "naming and shaming" in certain countries (particular Britain/UK and the United States) with regard to cybercrimes for both Digital Extremes/Warframe and Reddit/subreddits.

These include things like DDOS threats/attempts/performances, threats of death and terrorism, etc.

Banning or censuring players attempting to report such acts is illegal, and you cannot enforce such bans or censures even if they nominally agreed to rules or terms of service stating that you can enforce them.

It can come with prison terms and fines for anyone attempting to obstruct justice in this manner, and no rules against "witch hunts, name and shaming, or black listing" are absolute in any legal sense of the word.

Anyone who says rules against those things "aren't up for discussion" is lying to you, and at risk at breaking the law for attempting to enforce "that which is not supposed to be discussed".

If you want more information on why this is true, consider contacting: https://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx or viewing their FAQ if you live in the United States.

---

TL;DR: this post is deceitful, "name and shaming" is legally allowed under both the Reddit terms of service and Digital Extremes terms of services, because their rules have to respect the laws of the countries they operate in.

This does not apply to every case of naming and shaming, but does include allowance under serious offenses.

Therefore anyone who advises you that "naming and shaming" is against the rules is attempting to mislead you, deliberately or otherwise.

Stay safe, Tenno!
