[Meta] Can we please be careful to avoid turning this community into another mob (but in the opposite direction)?

It seems to me that populism is the way of the now, for the most part. People cry havoc and let slip the dogs of reddit and Twitter at the slightest provocation. By the time any reason can be made about something it's too late because the machine is up and blasting full-bore, damn the torpedoes.

When these accusations first cropped up it was like a punch in the gut. I honestly don't know what to think anymore. I don't know who did what, and I doubt anybody will ever know because there's no intrinsic way to determine the truth in situations like these.

I do think the majority of this shit is the business of the people involved and there's no reason for social media to play a part in this at all. I feel bad for everyone involved. I guess it's time for everyone to grow up a little bit and move on because you sure as shit can't go home again. RIP.
