I think that's a good analysis of the lopsided nature of discussion. Are there any practical ways the sub could be promoted to or reach out to other subs that deal with underrepresented genres then? Places like r/Popheads r/Hiphopheads or even queer and LGBT subs?

I agree that more diversity of opinion is always good, I primarily like talking about and defending the artistic merit of 00s Pop Punk and Emo which isn't a common position here. But so often it's a numbers game. The question I think isn't to focus obsessively on posts and trying to yell at the userbase to make better ones, but to figure out how more people can find this place and contribute. Less elitism not more imo.
