Regardless of whether the current rule is adjusted or not, the one thing all the mods agree upon is that anime will continue to only be Japanese animation.

And what, pray tell, is "Japanese Animation?" Animation created within the borders of the nation of Japan? Animation created for a Japanese audience? Animation created in a particular style? Animation which draws its primary point of reference from Japanese people? Some as yet unstated amalgam of those?

Maybe you'll know it when you see it. :-/

You guys haven't even presented a compelling definition of what the construct means, but you're willing to stifle interesting discussions over it? And that's an acceptable outcome to you? Maybe the mod team should be less concerned with the sub's ideological purity and more concerned with its vibrancy.

Perhaps it's time to take a step back and ask your community what it wants instead of attempting to dictate what it'll have based on what appears to be a subjective and somewhat nebulous criterion. Gigguk was right. :P
