It's a voyeuristic reality TV show and it is edited to elicit certain reactions in us. So everything is set up for the views to experience the outrage, disgust, shock etc that we do.

I do see where you are coming from as there are a fair few comments these days that seem gratuitously unkind, at least to me. I'm sure I'm guilty of this too. We should follow the mod's words and report if anything is really awfully abusive, really.

At the ridk of soundingl lame, it's easy to forget that these are real people with the ability to Google all this shite. And when you consider that you must have to have significant psychological issues to eat yourself to the brink of death, it really makes you stop and think about whether it's so great if we all pile in to them on the internet.
