Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain - Port Report

I really don't understand the mentality of "Consistent 60FPS = Rock-Solid Port", "how well optimized it is"... Excuse me, a 60FPS cap is one of the most annoying things they could possibly do, certainly in the long-term, and did you even look at the game? It runs on and was released for two decade old platforms, doesn't have real-time reflections (GZ had them), and while looking okay, shouldn't be even vaguely taxing on modern hardware. And that performance is irrelevant when you force it to be stuck with a fraction of the fluidity it could have had for everyone with a nice display. Having to hex-edit the exe to get 21:9 support that breaks with every update is bogus, on top of the fact that the HUD and certain effects and shading stick in the 16:9 box. Static FOV is another huge problem for mouse and keyboard players who don't want to sit twice as far away from their screens. No mouse support in menus.

Now, if this was a first time thing, I could understand it. But guess what, this is the 3rd game they've released, all having these exact same problems. People pleaded, and explained in explicit detail all of the problems with Rising and GZ, and they fixed almost nothing at all. They moved Motion Blur and DOF into separate settings, and fixed the non-scaling mouse zoom sensitivity issue. Every issue myself and numerous other brought up remains intact. The only thing I'm unaware of is if they now detect Mouse 4/5 (thumb buttons) in the mapping, as they didn't in Rising or GZ. Can anyone check that?

If this is what's considered a "solid port", PC gaming is over. Mad Max on the other hand, other than FOV adjustment (though the wiki says it can be changed but doesn't explicitly say how), seemed to nail just about everything, and yet again pouring out of the mouths of the fans who have zero clue, comes "best port/most optimized 2015". I get it, MGSV is very likely the better game, and in my eyes is vastly more interesting mechanically, but that fact and it hitting a "solid 60FPS" has no impact on true quality of the port...
