Metro Police Chief issues scathing memo after DA Glenn Funk's new spokesman released the identity of a rape victim to the news media

The misinformation in this thread is pretty staggering.

pushing previous spokesperson Dorinda Carter into a community relations position.

Dorinda Carter was hired by the DA's office in September 2014. Funk was sworn in as DA on September 1 that year. I personally don't actually know that he hired her, but it seems pretty damn likely.

So don't make it sound like Funk replaced someone competent with someone incompetent when he arrived. He hired Carter when he first joined the office and hired Whitehouse in May of this year.

The bleeding of talent from the DA's office is astonishing, they have lost many dozens of years of experience in a matter of months.

Who? Who has left in a matter of months?

As one of the ADAs privately told me, the inevitable result is going to be more crime and more people hurt or killed as a result of Glenn Funk's poor decisions.

ADAs have differing opinions on sentencing and how different crimes should be prosecuted. Funk's administration has been very progressive about sentencing especially when it comes to drug crimes and prostitution. He has worked with Nashville judges to create new diversion programs. This sub is all about diversion programs and punishing prosecutorial overreach until Funk does it, and now they're mad that Funk is hiring new talent.

Some individuals within the office no doubt disagree on a case to case basis or with his general strategy, but I find it very unlikely that an ADA told you that verbatim. If they did, shame on them for oversimplifying the situation.
