Mexican newspaper chimes in with a subtle headline

He also wants to get rid of "anchor babies", but has been wishy washy on whether he will actually get congress to pass a bill. The 14th Amendment guarantees citizenship to anyone born in the US, but doesn't explicitly say anything about what happens if you have a parent that's an illegal immigrant.

From what I can remember, people are arguing that the SCOTUS only ruled on a case where the parents were legal immigrants, not illegal immigrants. Since Republicans control congress and Trump gets to pick at least one justice, it's possible that birthright citizenship will end for babies born to illegal immigrants.

The question is, how will it be enforced? Millions of people in the US are born to legal immigrants. Do we make people prove it by providing documentation that their (possibly deceased) parents were legal immigrants? And who does the government get to question? Just the people with Mexican heritage? Or do we include everyone who doesn't look European? How do you enforce that?
