Let it out with friends not as a way to "figure out what to do" but as a catharsis wherein afterwards you have shed your burden at least for a short while.

This is the truth right here. For a long time I thought I would come across some pivotal philosophical work or strange esoteric belief that would ease my mind. That never happened.

But I've learned good friends, choice substances, and laughing like fucking idiots is the most helpful thing to combat looming existential dread. To quote a song we like to drunkenly sing:

"The Devil's brew I drank tonight.

Tomorrow have me exorcised.

And I'll tighten up my necktie once again."
