MGTOW getting their rocks off over a man hitting a woman.

We are better than that.

Maybe you are, but the vast majority of humans are not. Seriously, I'll get you some resources if you'd like to learn. These are links to evolutionary and social psych books via libgen

---> http://gen.lib.rus.ec/search.php?&req=Mark+P.+Zanna+%28Eds.%29&phrase=1&view=simple&column=def&sort=pages&sortmode=DESC , Just look up social psych and flip to the chapters on violence or the chapters that cover things like groupthink. This was my major and social psych was my favorite flavor of psych.

Humans are awful (me too) and they love violence, especially in groups. Look at boxing or martial arts as a spectator sport, that's worldwide. Warrior culture, it exists everywhere there are humans and they are often revered (support our troops!). Look at reddit, /r/wtf, /r/watchpeopledie, 4chan, ogrish, worldstar, rotten, etc, all heavily trafficked, many of which for the sole reason of reveling in the misery of others. Look at action or horror or war movies where the only plot is people being massacred for 2 hrs, if you were alive when movie stores were a thing you'd know there's a veritable fuck ton of them as well.

Totally related to this image is the gif of that knob Richard Spencer getting punched, I admit I laughed. It was shared in all the subs I frequent and heavily upvoted in all my circles (anarchism, communism, socialistra, etc) to great applause and further calls to violence.

People like to group ourselves with similar identities and form in-groups, even when we actively are trying to be inclusive we still form in-groups even within the in-group depending on where the pressure/stress is coming from and much of the time the way we counter these pressures is through violence which is then celebrated, psych is endlessly fascinating to me.

tl;dr

Bonus study postulating that the endogenous psychopharmaceutical pathway that rewards us for violence is similar to the one we have for sex. Thanatos and libido, I didn't think Freudianesque psych would make a cameo in my Reddit use today, but here we are.
