Michael admits fault on Commander show, apologizes

At no point does he say the words "I did this. I hurt her. I'm sorry for that." He's very careful to use abstract language and passive voice to avoid ownership of his actions. "She was hurt by my actions" isn't really that different than "someone was offended by what I said."

If he had come out and straight up said what we were all thinking and saying: "What I did was sexual harassment. I pressured her into something she wasn't comfortable with, and that was horrible of me." That would be a powerful statement, and I have actually seen other situations where people have made similar statements and actually tried to go from there.

But I don't get why so many people are so eager to call his apology great when it was basically just damage control instead of a heartfelt expression of remorse.
