Michael Floyd DUI arrest: Cardinals receiver charged in Scottsdale

No, I don't have the same worldview of black and white that you do. You are also putting words into my mouth and crediting me with opinions that I do not share but you want to project opinions on me.

The US has 25% of the worlds prisoners in its system alone. We have less than 5% of the planets population. 1 out of every 4 people in prison worldwide is in the US. Crimes like this one, should not be news, should not be anything more than a small fine in a victimless crime. Our system is broken and does not work.

In a more reasonable city that valued humanity and treating people with respect, the police would have parked his car, called an Uber or Taxi, and gotten him a ride home. They used to do that here, if you were not an asshole, before it turned into a cash cow that creates billions of dollars a year in revenue from us as taxpayers and often from people who can afford the fines, which is a whole other topic.

Do some research instead of drinking the media cool-aid. Go through the process and see what its like. You opiniopn to me is meaningless if you have not been on the other side of that fence.

There are bigger problems in our country and state than DUI's. Be responsible for your actions and how they affect others, but if not one is affected then why is it a crime? You all keep failing to answer that question.

If you want to live in a world of "could-have's, but didn't" and punish them in ways that did not fit the crime for those potential actions and paint them with a Scarlett Letter, then your world is not one that I want to live in that has such a lack of understanding of people and human nature who don't share the same opinions and beliefs that you have. You can't even understand how a person like me who lost their wife to a drunk driver can argue that the stigma and laws regarding DUI's are too extreme. I see your perspective clearly.

I wish you well in your life, I hope some day your perspective grows.
