Michael Kopech‘s new tattoo

Not a hill I want to die on so I'm gonna ditch it here in a post about a stupid tattoo but I'm surprised there wasn't more backlash or speculation from the fanbase about Michael's injury.

He had lost a little velocity prior to getting the call-up. You gotta wonder if he knew he was hurt and if so, for how long? Even if Michael did suspect injury, it was obviously in his best interest to keep his mouth shut. It is hard to blame him. I feel for the Sox though because already gave up 15% of their control calling him up midseason when they didn't have to. Now they lose another year in '19. Such a crippling loss for the organization for it to happen during his least expensive years and lose essentially a third of their controlled years.

Kopech seems to be at the cutting edge of baseball technology, or at least has access to it at the places he trains in the offseason, I wouldn't be shocked if he had independent MRIs every offseason. I wonder if there was any chance the Sox docs could have caught it? Is there any sort of exam prior to joining the big club? Would the players union ever allow an organization to run MRIs on demand, or even at the beginning of Spring Training? I remember Ohtani had his medical records available to teams before he signed.... why was that? Did his people know he'd fail any physical so they disclosed prior to signing?
