It was a matter of broken promises. He practiced complete inaction when it came to young black men being shot in the streets; deportations were at a record high under him; the Great Recession — caused by white financial elites who he was happy to save — decimated average American wealth as he did not ameliorate the foreclosure crisis when he could have done so easily.

His legacy on America is deeply complicated, but at the end of the day he served the banks, not the majority of Americans. And the deportations under him while he preached openness and diversity were glaring.

I updated this to reflect me. I'm white and bought a house at 24 because i was am stupid and uninformed. Obama, like the two presidents before him, fucked over the majority of Americans to benefit the minority of rich assholes.
