Michigan State Police turn off bodycams after using a taser on a 15 year old boy driving on ATV resulting in boys death.

I'm sure I'll get a lot of crap for this, but whatever. This should be very simple. If you're a cop and you turn your bodycam off during any point while you're in your uniform and there is ANY type of issue during that time, you should be fired and face some form of consequences of whatever accusations are brought against you unless there is some video or some other type of evidence proving your innocence. Even if you're out on a lunch break or on your way home (in a police vehicle and while wearing your uniform) in the event something happens during those times requiring you to intervene. Police are public servants that are supposed to protect the people that are in the areas they operate in. There is no reason for a cop who is doing their job properly and without malice to turn that camera off until they take that uniform off. With the possible exception of while using the bathroom. But even then, if you forget to turn it back on, there should be consequences if a reasonable complaint is brought against you. Again, this SHOULD be simple. But we live in a world where too often police are simply suspended for doing exactly what they're not supposed to do, which is injure or sometimes kill the very people they're supposed to protect. It's like a basic rule of being a police officer or doctor.... Rule 1: don't injure or kill people that shouldn't be injured or killed.
