Mick Gordon- My full statement regarding DOOM Eternal

Mick is such a badass, and honestly, when I read Marty's post it initially tarnished my view of him. I thought, man, Mick sounds like a difficult artist to work with. But now that I read this, I have no doubt about who got fucked here. Marty's pee pee was probably just hurt because the music was one of the first things anybody would talk about when talking about how good 2016 was. Mick is probably like, himself and one or two assistants at most, and he contributed so fucking much to the experience of the games and definitely birthed a fleshed out musical world unto itself with these scores. I am a composer myself, somewhat seasoned, and when I listen to his shit, I am constantly going like "this guy is a motherfucker." So yeah, also, I have worked under the crunch he is describing and it _fucking_ sucks ass. So to go 2 years on that straight is beyond me. And to have to deal with their vague inability to commit, to be scoring unfinished shit, to have them withhold payment because they can't commit -- fucking nightmare shit, dude. I mean, look, go watch Mick's GDC talk about the music for doom 2016. He is clearly such a humble, intelligent, well-spoken composer and shares a lot of knowledge in that talk that he definitely did not have to give away - it is one of the better gdc talks I've seen, it was practical but deep, and I think that just speaks to his integrity as a person. So yeah, I'm a fan and iD / Marty can literally eat my ass. Go Mick, I cannot wait to hear his next shit and he is like definitely at the top of people I would love to work with because I just vibe with his shit super hard and I see a real commitment to what he is doing and I really hope this experience does not discourage or deter from him going where he needs to go with his shit.
