Microsoft to acquire Activision in 67billion dollar deal

Really should be the top comment.

I suppose it’s no surprise… Microsoft has never really been the creative type. Instead, they consume companies and software that are and stick them behind the Windows/Xbox eco system.

Not sure how many of you are old enough to remember how the Halo franchise came to be?

Bungie was a Mac software company who released the Marathon games back in the day. Halo was their new game and I watched the demo live at an Apple Event with Steve Jobs. At the time, the G3/G4 processors apple used were more performant than intel. High end GFX cards were really starting to become popular and the Halo demo left people speechless. It was quite something to see.

Anyway, while I’m sure to most people this is great because it means more games on game pass and that’s all that matters to them. However, as someone who has watched all of this since the early 90s, it’s just sad.
