Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is out in 3 days, I keep seeing the same questions popping up about it, so I made a quick FAQ. And as a reminder: You can get it on Games Pass from day 1 of release (handy if you want to just try it out)

Sucks that you can't fly military aircraft. Even some real life professional pilots never get the opportunity to fly those, why not put it in a flight sim since this would be the closest people would be to fulfilling a dream like that? I mean yeah, of course take out the weapons and artillery but to be able to fly the actual modern jets? That would be so awesome! I mean imagine flying a plane from WW 2 or flying a Zeppelin or even one of the more modern types of aircraft that can reach all the way to the edge of the atmosphere etc.

, and I know that you have access to this sort of thing in Ace Combat, sure. But that is still just a game, not really a flight simulator.

In my opinion the point of a simulator is to give you access to something you'd never be able to achieve in real life unless you do it professionally. And taking out military vehicles is a conservative way of doing it and a big missed opportunity in our day and age.

My guess would be it's probably because the government/military doesn't want terrorists to get their hands on their military property to learn it, however I do think those days are over. Technology has gotten to a point where things like A.I. and social media is a bigger threat to humanity than actual people misusing military vehicles. Modern day surveillance is way too advanced for methods like that to be employed effectively.
