Mid-week check in - how is your week going?

I was supposed to take a ferry out to an island and run a marathon this past weekend which got canceled due to high waves. I'm now stuck in a weird spot because my next race is a 104k with nonstop climbing at high altitude (polar opposite of what I'm trained for.) I don't need my recovery time I thought I would when I planned my schedule and I'm all full on peaking exercises. So I am just going out and getting as much vert as I can. Good news is I did a run yesterday and ran my fastest half marathon in almost a year because I haven't competed on flat road in forever despite spending the summer and half of fall training for fast road work. The plan tomorrow is to bag a Strava segment near my home on a huge climb that was taken from me a month ago and has been nagging me for a while.
