Might miss work to take a test for a class, employer thinks I graduated?

I thought I was graduating when interviewing with them in February, but then got a 69% in a class and didn't graduate. And yeah I understand, it's on me.

You had plenty of opportunities to call them and tell them.

I agree that honesty is the best policy, but I'm just kind of too deep into things now. If I had mentioned at the beginning of the summer that I hadn't graduated, or said I was taking classes for a master's program or whatever, it would have probably been fine. It's just a little too late for that. Still wanted to ask this question to see if there were some harmless lines I could use like "taking a class so I can start applying to master's programs soon", idk.

You need to learn better time management. If school and graduating was really this important, you'd make the time. You don't need a full day to study. You could be taking a few hours (heck even one hour) to review material every night. You should have told them and it doesn't matter if you're in too deep. Someone took a chance on you and this is how you're repaying them. You're not starting your career out on good terms at all and guess what when you get a full time job, you're going to need to be transparent and honest. People can and will find out.

Life doesn't get easier when you get a full time job. You gotta remember when bills are due, budget your money, ensure your priorities are straight with your job, and you're doing your job.

Most of the time I was upfront about interviews because I was in temporary positions and an intern. My boss took an interest in me and sometimes I'd take lunch to interview or ask to step away from my desk. There was one instance I didn't tell them about an interview, but I fessed up after awhile. I didn't tell them as it was due to it being a surprise and not knowing where it would go.
