Might move to Beaverton

Portland area is nice. LA does suck. I'm with you on all of that BUT know and understand people do not like Californians here. Simply because tech companies such as Intel and other big brands such as Nike brought a lot of out of state folks here and paid them well. Over the years these folks have bought out the properties which made the Portland housing prices really high. Now as someone who was brought here by one of those companies, I didn't have a choice but to move here. Luckily for me, I was not from the toilet bowl called LA. I came from Bay Area/Northern California so I mixed pretty well with the Portland culture (its like a mini SF. I know I will get shit for saying this but if you know SF and Portland you know what i'm talking about) . In due time you will learn not to mention anything California related unless you are speaking to a Californian/transplant. With all that said, Oregonians are nice folks, they wont tell you to "go home" to your face. They might express their opinion and their hate for California on the internet but in your daily life you wont see much of it. Be kind when you are here, do not act like you are from LA. If you don't like the rain suck it up and deal with it but do not mention sunny California. As they say "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" Best of luck to you!
