Mike Flynn Met With Turkish Officials to Illegally Extradite Turkish Cleric

Back when news first broke about Flynn's involvement with the current Turkish regime, I was initially surprised by the amount of pay he received ($600,000) for 90 days of work. The only tangible evidence of the lobbying at the time was this op-ed piece penned by Flynn advocating Gülen's extradition, which was published oddly enough on Election Day. Six hundred grand for just a measly article? Seems a bit high...

And now we know why Flynn only retroactively registered as a foreign agent. Had the kidnapping of Gülen actually taken place, he would have been directly implicated. I'm floored by the gall of the Erdogan government conspiring to subvert the Obama administration in kidnapping a permanent US resident, but more shocked that a former high-ranking government official would help break domestic US laws and undermine American foreign policy interests in such a brazen manner. Assuming this story is really true, it's not hard to surmise that Flynn may have committed worse deeds, if the price was right.
