Is Mikrotik Wifi really that bad ?

I don't see your problem with me, may be my poor english not understandable clearly. Sorry for that.

I said the same, MikroTik has NO Band-steering method or algorithm. I just gave a tip about band steering technic and explain the basic physics of RF as base. If you read that you clearly see why I said IF you have a building with massive walls or brick walls separate the band's SSIDs. I did not say that band steering is official protocol or a standard.

CAPsMAN forwarding uses CPU on core router for the forwarding, if you put a lot of rules which depending on CPU, like NAT, VLAN, you can reach the CPU limitations. Just try it with a RB2011, put some Bridge VLAN filtering, NAT, Tunnels and you will see if you use CAPsMAN forwarding and have a huge traffic on wifi, your CPU will always on 30-50% which cause slow speed on wifi . If you not using complex networks you will not meet with this.

You don't need to any configurations as evidence for understand what I talking about. I explain also that how MikroTik thinking, you have to use the Hardware as much as possible, just thinking the Hardware Offload feature .. in this case of CAPsMAN forwarding to put the stress of the forwarding down from the core router CPU and let the APs switching chips to do that, its just on optimisation. https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?t=148662

"Local forwarding is faster but requires more network configuration (bridges, VLANs, etc.). CAPsMAN forwarding also uses CPU on the management Mikrotik. There are probably more."

Anyway I don't put a gun to anyone head to do what I say, but I write my best knowledge and try to keep clear my explains as possible as I know english.
