Military to Business translation guide

I think you've missed the mark. You assume leaders want to encourage specific behavior, that's not entirely accurate. As an infantry leader I sought to develop a team that had discipline, cohesion, and violence of action. Warfare is the last little piece of humanity left that doesn't try to hide its face behind something more gentle. Warfare isn't a competition, no one fucking wins. When you do something right on the battlefield you maybe don't go home in a box, or maybe you do and your buddy doesn't. There are no rewards, a soldier who performs at his best and holds his hand out to me for a fucking reward is worthless. Perform your best because anything less is you fucking everyone else over so you can avoid some small amount of pain. Life is not a kindergarten classroom and no one is going to give people like us a fucking star, nor are they going to call my enemies mommy when he's mean to me. No one's getting a fucking trophy. You wanted to be recognized for what you sacrificed? Fuck you, if you're still hear to be recognized I don't want to hear about it, because plenty aren't.

Believing that war is a bad idea is okay. Believing that other nations will not kick in your door take every fucking thing you have the moment they smell weakness is a direct miscalculation. Remember, everyone is there own hero. You think the Nazis thought we were saving the world from them mid WWII? Nope. They thought they were saving the world from the socialists and the jews (just like Trump wants to save America from the atheists and the Mexicans.) The world isn't full of a bunch of people thinking about what a bad idea war is. You think the people making those decisions experience the financial hardship that the expense of war causes? Hell no.

I left the army because it turned into a shit show. We can have gays, and lesbians, and women in the infantry, I don't give a fuck, long as they fight dogs and never quit. What we cannot tolerate in our army is weakness. We are our nations strength in war. Fuck up. I'll run this whole platoon till everyone fucking pukes, myself included. If you're a soldier who has earned the right to call themselves an infantryman you wont complain. You wont call me mean. You'll laugh in my face and keep going because you're not weak. You'll be happy to serve under my leadership because you know I'm not weak. Because no matter how much I run you, how much I expect of you, I will give as much and more of myself.

There are soldiers who are eager. Tonight when you tuck yourself into bed remember that. You sleep in relative peace because a bunch of scary mother fuckers stand not just ready, but fucking thirsty, to make the day of any mother fucker who wants break the silence of our sleep.
