Military experts warn of 'epic' humanitarian crisis sparked by climate change

The last thing I read regarding the president elect is that his "default" position is climate denial. I think that phrasing was pointed.

When a businessman calls something his "default" position, it means that other options are negotiable. In turn, that means there is a way to convince our incoming administration to take climate change seriously.

First, the right people have to tell the president elect that it's serious. Hearing it from military advisers is a good start, but hearing it from economic advisers, along with anybody else who can demonstrate the problem would be better.

Think about the number of times the president elect spoke the words, "everybody says," during his campaign. "Everybody" needs to tell this guy the truth about climate change.

Second, there has to be an economically feasible plan of action that dependably creates jobs. If it comes down to a choice of avoiding crisis or enjoying prosperity until a crisis, Trump would choose to let the crisis happen. It wouldn't even change anything if this were an existential threat.

Third and finally, the proposed plan of action would have to convince the industry insiders who have Trump's ear, in addition to any and all foreign leaders he holds in high esteem.
