Military preppers, how does your set up differ from the rest of the populations?

Not active, but live near base and and obviously would want any active fam members to know they could send spouse, kids to stay with us in scenario where member would be gone. If I was active would map out any known relatives or close friends within a reasonable distance and simply have the conversation and preps in place to have options for your family.

What stikes me is it seems like families in the local off-base housing are a lot more isolated in terms of interaction with each other, which I guess is just a sign of the times. I'm sure they would still have each other's backs, but honestly I don't think they're anywhere near as prepared as they could be because of it. I sense this because the crime there is out of hand (criminals from surrounding areas just jump walls/fence, etc.) and I can't understand why they haven't banded together more to address it.

Obviosly I'm not there and don't know all the dynamics, but to me this is a huge red flag since community cooperation in their situation is vital and really should be a given imo. Accordingly, if I was off base or not, I'd have preps to bug in family at least 2 weeks, a clear plan to get family to nearby relatives or trusted friends, and generally plan as if they would be travelling or camping for a couple weeks.

I did some work on a car for one of the guy's that lives off-base, his wife's car, and they didn't have any emergency supplies in it at all. I hooked him up with a checklist I had and some cables and a couple other items someone deploying to Japan had actually just given me that I had doubles of.

Also hinted to him there's only one nearby gas station and I always keep at least half tank of gas and try to remind my wife to, just in case.
