Millennials, what confuses you about Gen Z?

I don't understand why Gen Z-ers think they invented dark & self-deprecating humor.

My Gen Z brother and his friends will make causal jokes about dying and suicide. For example they'll say they are so tired they don't want to wake up ever again. Or when I asked some of his friends where they want to live since they were talking about moving out of their hometown they just responded by saying they don't want to live. Everyone in their friend group thought these jokes were hilarious, when they saw me not laughing they decided to explain to me what dark humor is and why self deprecating jokes are funny as if no one but people there age could possibly understand.

Another thing that confuses me is the higher rates of ADHD. My younger brother and all of his friends claim to have ADHD but I know for my brother he's never been officially diagnosed by a doctor.

Adding to the ADHD thing is that this group of Gen Z guys all openly talk about how they don't like reading and admit they find it boring. They have told me before the only reading they have done is what was required for high school. None of them seek out books or even grew up reading books such as The Chronicles of Narnia or Harry Potter or any other series that I read throughout middle and high school. Just another thing that really confused me about their culture.
