Million Dollars, But... The Game Announcement

yeah sounds like you dont like them anymore, maybe find someone new. i mean i cant tell you why you dont like them, i would guess you liked ray's style of humor more than others maybe but i dont know man.

I think it's pretty self explanatory. I just don't think they are putting effort into providing any entertaining or funny content. Most of their recent videos consist on them playing some multiplayer game / minecraft mod / gta custom map and shouting at each other while random shit happens, or gavin trying to revitalize the boring atmosphere by trying to come up with the first thing that comes to mind which could lead to a funny conversation. Sometimes works, most of the time he just gets shut down for no good reason.

the next half of this post is just kind of something i cant really respond to you just kind of ramble about a slightly pessimistic view of how they recieve feedback with some tangents. all i can say to that is getting feedback from that many people is hard, its all pretty much the same and a large amount of the negative feedback is useless, from people who dont want to watch anyways but hate you are popular or just kind of pointless stuff people pick at.

it might sound pessimistic but I don't really focus on how they take criticism as much as on how stale they are getting and how they just aren't listening to what the fans are saying. How many posts with 600 upvotes telling them to keep Matt and Lindsay off videos do we need before they keep them off the goddamn videos? You only get so many many white knights defending anything AH does without a second guess before you start seeing a pattern.

also it sounds like you think they are obligated to listen to the audience or something. with the part about funhaus and how they are the same.

obligated? not at all. But you know, sometimes it might be helpful. Look, I understand being a creator with a huge fanbase can sometimes feel like just a shitload of noise and nobody getting what you are doing but when video after video you get the same responses by the hundreds maybe it's because something isn't working.

Also, the commen about funhaus isn't that I feel entitled to them listening to their audience, but rather the fact that they go out of their way to insult us whenever it is possible. They even made a video series dedicated to them just shitting on their fanbase because it's funny to them. Granted, some of those comments are pretty horrible but when they highlight a well put comment only to have lawrence shit all over it with his angry anime nerd shtick or james completely dismissing it by making an unrelated joke it can feel like they just don't give one ounce of crap about what people say. Which, you know, it's not the worst thing you can do as a company or creator, but sometimes it can feel... I don't know, unnecesary? Gratuitious? Masturbatory? You pick the word.

last paragraph im not really sure what to say, it sounds like you still like roosterteeths comedy style maybe but you are upset they arent changing what they do enought to keep it "refreshing" maybe?

I think some people in there are goddamn hilarious. Pretty much everyone in the original RvB cast still makes me laugh and entertain me with most of the things I do, Gavin can be a genius creating gold situations out of thin air, and Jeremy and Ryan have really grown wings in the dynamic and made their own space. I also think that there's some painfully unfunny and hard to watch people there too which are polluting everything they make by trying really hard to compensate for their lack of comedy skills to the point of overcompensating and ruining the mood altogether. How many podcasts doing nothing but puns and talking about social media numbers do we need? We got the point guys, can we have someone else? How many tinder stories from Blaine before we get to something intere- oh nevermind, here comes 3 ad reads in a row, aaaand now they forgot what they were talking about. Back to square one.

I don't know if I want something "refreshing" from them as much as I want them to make good decisions as far as the quality of their content goes. I get I can't ask someone to make 2 40 minute videos a day and expect 100% of them to be rock solid, but I seriously can't think of the last one I've seen in the last year and a half that has made me so much as smile. They used to be my go-to "watch at lunch" thing and now I have to find something else which is a pain in the ass
