I'm shocked you don't understand. You admitted you owed a debt to the treasury. You owed debt to the government. Thats why they garnished your taxpayer funded income.

Now, had you bought a camaro from a private dealership like my sister did whilst on welfare. And then defaulted and had that camaro repo'd. The government is not a debtors society. At that point it is a civil case. The PRIVATE dealership hired a PRIVATE law firm and they took it to PRIVATE civil court. My sister lost. That's why she couldn't take out credit or loans. Had she had a job, they would have garnished her wages. But because she was/is on welfare they can't touch it. Only money owed to the government can be garnished.
