"Millions are dead in Iraq. We actually fought in your damn wars. You sent us to hurt civilians." Army Veteran confronts Biden.

You cannot compare the actions of the entire military against the individual troop. It’s not fair and we don’t do that in most other careers. It’s also a situation where people provide their opinion as fact, but have no clue how it works because they have never served. Talking about something so confidently that you do not know about is usually frowned upon and called out. Not every single job is combat arms. Most are not. I’m not in anymore and I didn’t enjoy my time in. But again, I went in at 18 with no money. I didn’t have anything to fall back on. Now I have experience and a decent career. Another thing that people know, but don’t account for, is that a lot of us join as 17/18 year olds. What was your world view at that age? Because 10 years later mine is a lot different. As you know, young adults are easily molded and eager to start a career. You don’t join the military and just get handed a weapon and dropped into a combat zone. There are jobs for that and those people take those risks. That’s their business and it’s up to them if they can lay their head down at night. Which most infantryman nowadays don’t even see combat. You’d be shocked by the amount of people who serve that can’t even take apart a weapon after being in for 6 years. Idc if you judge the MIC because they’ve earned their judgement by being shitty. It’s a daily job and you’re not just planning how to invade the next country and suck up all their resources. I woke up, went to PT, went to work, and went to the home in the afternoon.
