All versions of Minecraft are a separate purchase for each platforms.

Minecraft is the cross-platform version of the game for mobile, VR, TV, Windows 10, Xbox One, and, soon, Nintendo Switch platforms.

Minecraft was formerly, and more commonly known as Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition.

Minecraft is based on the Bedrock engine and codebase, so it is commonly referred to as “Minecraft (Bedrock),” “Bedrock Edition,” or just “Bedrock.”

Owners of Minecraft: Java Edition can get Minecraft for Windows 10 for free. See this Mojang Support article for more info.

If you only own Minecraft: Java Edition or Minecraft for Windows 10 and also want to play it on Xbox One, you will need to purchase Minecraft for Xbox One separately.
