Minor Nations National Ideas Thread: British Raj Edition

Since I didn't have any space, here is the continuation:

ARMY EFFORT

(1) Innovate the Army (1x50% research boost for infantry weapons)

Our Indian Army is very large, but they are undertrained and do not have any experience fighting in actual combat. Our armies should be trained a bit more and we should focus on researching new types of weapons to support in the inevitable war.

(1) Expand the Royal Indian Navy (gain 25 naval experience)

In its current state, the Royal Indian Navy is extremely small and only consists of eight warships. To actually protect India from outside threats, however, we need to expand this measly navy into a very powerful force to be reckoned with.

(1) Expand the Indian Air Force (gain 25 air experience)

The Indian Air Force was created in the early 1930's, but as a very small auxillary force to complement the British force rather than a proper standalone unit. Gradually, the Air Force can be made a lot better.

(2) Women's Auxillary Corps (gain the 'Women in the Military Industry' national spirit, requires Innovate the Army)

The Women's Auxillary Corps (India) was formed to assign some of the non-combat military jobs in the army to women so that men could go and fight instead of needing to help out with industry.

(2) Mechanical Transport Division (gain the Mechanical Transport division type [5xInfantry, 3xArtillery, 1xAntiTank, 1xAntiAir, Support: Recon, Engineer, Signal, Hospital, Artillery], requires Innovate the Army)

We do have a lot of men that can fight, but we also have an industry that can churn out different kinds of weapons to aid our men. Why simply stop at infantry, when we can use other types of technology to help in combat.

(2) Study of Military (2x100% reduced ahead of time penalty or 50% research boost to all land units, requires Innovate the Army)

Simply having a lot of units and a lot of weapons is not enough to excel in combat. We must have an understanding of the research and mechanics of how an army and how a weapon works before we plunge into the battlefield.

(2) Dominating Navy (2x50% research boost to Heavy Cruisers, Battlecruisers and Battleships, mutually exclusive with Stealthy Navy and Fast Navy, requires Expand the Royal Indian Navy)

Just like the United Kingdom, our navy should be strong and dominating over the seas. This will project power across the rest of the world and make us an empire to be feared, both on land and on sea.

(2) Fast Navy (1x50% research boost to Destroyers and Light Cruisers, mutually exclusive with Dominating Navy and Stealthy Navy, requires Expand the Royal Indian Navy)

Spending time and effort on large ships is too much work and will not produce anything. Instead, our focus should be on mobile, fast ships that can blitz through other large ships with impunity.

(2) Stealthy Navy (1x50% research boost to Submarines, mutually exclusive with Dominating Navy and Fast Navy, requires Expand the Royal Indian Navy)

A large ship will get destroyed by torpedoes from smaller ships if it reveals itself. A small ship will get destroyed by the superior firepower of a large ship if it reveals itself. So why reveal the ships? Our strategy should be to hide under the water and strike from the blue.

(2) Aeronautical Navy (1x50% research boost to Carriers, requires Expand the Royal Indian Navy and Expand the Indian Air Force)

The land is small, but the seas are vast. If we start putting our planes on aeroplane carriers instead of airbases near our territory, we will both be able to attack larger distances and save space in the place where we need it the most.

(2) Maintained Navy (gain 1 building slot in Madurai, Gujarat and West Bengal, gain 1 dockyard in Madurai, Gujarat and West Bengal, requires Expand the Royal Indian Navy)

It does not matter how large, fast or stealthy our ships are: if they do not recieve reinforcements, fuel and equipment, then they will always fall. Instead of making our navy better, we must make our industry better so we can at least maintain a navy.

(2) Air Superiority (1x50% research boost to Fighters, 1x50% research boost to Heavy Fighters, requires Expand the Indian Air Force)

Aeroplane combat is going to be integral to the success or defeat of not just air units itself, but also armies. Air units have more uses than just strategic and tactical bombing of infrastructure, they can be used to sway the tide of battle as well.

(2) Air Destruction (1x50% research boost to Tactical Bombers, 1x50% research boost to Strategic Bombers, requires Expand the Indian Air Force)

What good are aeroplanes if not for total destruction of the enemy's infrastructure and navy? If we have even a few units above ground, they can wreck a lot of havoc among the enemy nation and their defences.

(2) Practice with the Royal Air Force (gain the national spirit 'Practicing with the Royal Air Force', requires India to be a puppet of the United Kingdom or in the same faction as the United Kingdom, requires Expand the Indian Air Force)

Our air force is quite large now, but we do not have training and experience that the United Kingdom has after their countless wars. If we can send our air force to train with the Royal Air Force, then they will learn a lot and come back almost as veterans.

(2) Tokyo Cadets (gain the national focus 'Tokyo Boys', requires India to be at war with the United Kingdom or in the same faction as Japan, requires Expand the Indian Air Force)

The Tokyo Cadets or the Tokyo Boys were a group of fourty-five young new recruits of the Indian Army that were sent to the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force Academy to train as pilots against the United Kingdom. Our dearest friend Japan would definitely not mind if we sent a far larger group.

(3) Strategy Focus (2x50% research boost to land doctrines, gain the 'Thinking before Striking' focus, requires Study of Military, mutually exclusive with Firepower Focus)

After deep consideration of the possibilities and outcomes, our army experts have told us that tactics is far more important than simple firepower and equipment, and our generals need to be very intelligent and quick-thinking.

(3) Firepower Focus (1x50% research boost to infantry, requires Study of Military, mutually exclusive with Strategy Focus)

After deep consideration of the possibilities and outcomes, our army experts have told us that no matter what tactics are used, lots of equipment and manpower will always win out, and our army needs to be well-equipped and modern.

(3) Extra Research Slot (gain an extra research slot, requires Study of Military)

Military studies is simply a component of science, and this science can be applied in other fields as well: to make our industry better, to improve our engineering skills, to better our air units, to bolster our navy, and later, when the war commences, to become a major power.

(3) Superiority of Land (1x50% research boost to Close Air Support, mutually exclusive with Destruction of Navy, requires Air Superiority and Innovate the Army)

We have a lot of fighters and heavy fighters that are destroying other enemy planes, but what use is an empty sky? Let us build fighters specialised in close air support so we can at least aid our ground troops when they are in combat.

(3) Destruction of Navy (1x50% research boost to Naval Bombers, mutually exclusive with Superiority of Land, requires Air Destruction and Expand the Royal Indian Navy)

Our strategic bombers and tactical bombers are extremely good at terrorising the enemy's infrastructure and army, but we have failed to neglect their navy. Creating a type of bomber that specialises in destroying the enemy's navy might be a worthwhile investment.

(3) Naval Women's Auxillary Corps (gain the national spirit 'Women in the Naval Industry', requires Women's Auxillary Corps and Expand the Royal Indian Navy)

We have a quite considerable navy, but our industry is lacking in manpower to maintain them, due to most of the men going to fight in the seas rather than working in the factories. But why have men? Just like we did with the army, we should recruit some women to help in the naval industry.

(3) Aeronautical Women's Auxillary Corps (gain the national spirit 'Women in the Aeronautical Industry', requires Women's Auxillary Corps and Expand the Indian Air Force

Our air force has a lot of men working for it, but not enough engineers and factory workers to actually maintaing the planes after their long flights and ardous battles. If we can recruit some women to work in the aeronautical industry just like we did with the army, we can then save a lot of men by not forcing them to come back to the factories.

(4) Artillery Upgrades (1x50% research boost to Artillery, requires Firepower Focus)

Focusing on firepower and manpower may be great, but infantry is not the only type of combat battalion there is in the world. Artillery is a great type of unit: they can rip through other infantry units, and are somewhat cheap.

(4) Armour Upgrades (1x50% research boost to Armour, requires Firepower Focus)

Focusing on firepower and manpower may be great, but infantry is not the only type of combat battalion there is in the world. Armour is a great type of unit: they are very fast, and we can adapt them to various other uses if need be.
