Man, I've talked to myself about shit that's never happened.

I once had a 10 minute conversation with myself about a hypothetical news story about us discovering intelligent life on another planet.

If it's intrusive and is upsetting your life, see a doctor. If it's something you can't control but feel like you should, see a doctor. If it's a quirk that isn't harming your life or causing you any distress... see a doctor if you want, but you're probably fine.

It might be a condition you can have treated, or it might just be a character quirk. The difference, in its entirety, is functionally how disruptive it is to your life. Only you can decide that.
