Misconception: You can't learn Japanese from anime

He then specifically disagreed when you said children have it easier

Stop.

You just switched the claim from "faster" to "easier" without even realizing it. They're different things and they matter a whole lot in this particular discussion. You need to sort out what you're talking about.

He then specifically disagreed when you said children have it easier, in fact there's really no room for misinterpretation of his statement unless you just don't understand the words.

Sigh, no. Stop. He even agreed with me on the point of practicality here:

only insofar as children's (and teens - look at military language schools) schedules are easier to work intensive, effective language training.

And we both agreed the neurological claims, such as brain plasticity, are not exactly valid:

His quote on that is here,

there's nothing inherent about being a kid, there aren't concerns about brain plasticity or any of the other bullshit that gets trotted out when people start talking about adult language acquisition.

That's the neurological hypothesis he's referring to, also known as the critical period which makes a claim about the brains of children and brain development. I agreed with him on the point that the neurological stuff being unproven here:

This claim as it relates to neurology is, yes, not proven with what we know about our neurology. And there is, as you say, evidence to suggest that adults have no more difficulty acquiring language due to neurological barriers (which is what older hypotheses suggested).

Okay? You don't have a clue about what's going on in our exchanges.
