Mistakes and complaints define TBS's MLB postseason coverage right now

I see a lot of complaints, but no call to switch off the TV en masse—so it's questionable whether the network is going to bother to hear any of this.

It feels good to blow some wind around online, but as long as you continue to watch you've cast your vote, and it's a vote of approval.

It's like what happened with the NHL last year, when they rejected an expansion bid from Quebec City: a lot of people got righteous about it, saying that the NHL had made a PR blunder, and they'd better watch out. But by and large, these same people are still going to watch hockey this year, they're still going to go to games when they can, and they'll still buy merchandise at the same rates. Until their opinion translates into action—and not just on their part, but on the part of a large population—it is without meaning.

Hockey fans who want the best of the sport are locked into the NHL; baseball fans who want to watch the Majors in October are locked into TBS (in the US). Unfortunately there's not much to be done. We could stop watching, but it would probably hurt baseball more than it would hurt the network.

I'm sure there are producers at TBS who want to put out a truly good product, but I'm not sure what the incentives are for the network itself. "Good enough" always wins; and "good enough" means you're watching.
