MKBHD: “My Pixel 6 Pro has slowly gotten so buggy since launch in October that I can no longer recommend it at $900. Combined with the latest botched update it's just been a bad experience. My SIM is back in an S21 Ultra til the next review.”

My Pixel 6 is usable at least until the next cycle of new phones, I wish it was perfect/flawless like some peoples unit in this sub though. Hardware wise my unit is solid, the power button and volume are a bit wiggly, and unfortunately my screen came with some color defects but thankfully they're not too noticeable with normal usage. I'll definitely be getting a new device sometime this year which I rarely do as I like to keep my device for at least a few years but my huge gripe with my P6 is the software and overall usage experience.

You'd think stock Android would be the best and most stable Android experience, and with Google being the software giant they are, would handle these issues better than they currently are. So many bugs that randomly occur just don't give me confidence in using my P6, and most of the time to fix these issues I'd have to reset my phone which in 2022 you'd think you wouldn't have to do so frequently.

App crashes, password managers not working, drop down menu not working, touch not registering/lagging, notifications not coming in or drastically delayed, unoptimized apps, BT connection issues, apps/widgets randomly stop working and just crashes needing to reset to fix, inconsistent auto brightness, copy and paste menu covering up a majority of the text I highlighted so I can't see what I'm editing, never knowing if I'll open in app or browser or Play store - inconsistent, need to grant precise location or the app thinks I didn't give location access at all... These are some of the annoying stuff I experience frequently using my P6 still on the November update.

All the best to Google and their efforts in revamping their Pixel line and being competitive with the other major brands. I hope they learn from this P6 debacle and refine the P7 and Android in general. I can't say I'll be sticking with a Pixel or Android for that matter for my next device, but I'll keep an eye on what Google does with their Pixel line and hopefully I can come back with a better experience.
