I had to go to a chiropractor some years ago because I fucked up my back severely after lifting something wrong at work. My lower and middle part of my back had completely locked and I could barely move, so I went and had the lady examine me and after a long and thurough examination and 500 questions about my general health/previous injuries she managed to "unlock" my spine. I went for a few follow-up treatments and I never had any issues after that. She did also show me multiple exercises to strengthen my back and how to properly stretch.

So for me personally it wasn't just a snap, crackle, pop experience, I get that many chiropractors inflict damage because they don't know what they're doing, but the experience I had with my chiropractor was great.
