The IMF facilitated. In 2001, Kirchner was able to ride that outrage. In 2014, the country went bankrupt, Kirchner female was able to blame the IMF for that. And then Macri is elected and the IMF decide to go balls deep lending to him so he is re-elected, he loses, Argentina goes bankrupt, and now Kirchner female is blaming the IMF again (I think they have been in technical default now three times in the past ten years).

All you say is correct but it is a Sturgeon/Tories situation: without the IMF, the legitimacy of populism in Argentina/South America would be weaker (because the free cash handouts would blow up faster). The IMF did the same thing with Greece.
