I like Morrissey and think he can still write a good song. Generally though, I find all lyrics on most songs in pretty much any genre to be cringe and contrived. I raised this on a previous day RE Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap stuff but it applies to all music. For instance, I've never liked the band Elbow because Guy Garvey is fucking cringe and his lyrics are terrible. Take that bit off and 'One Day Like This' is amazing. NOTHING IS ADDED TO IT by Guy Garvey warbling 'In silly wrong, but vivid right' in cringe. Just sit down you podge, or pick up a triangle or a tambourine.
