[MOD] The Daily Question Thread

Hey all! So I've been having this issue with my Stagg EKG for the past few months, and it's been getting worse. Basically, my kettle won't accurately read the temp. For example, if I set it to 207 it will go: 207=> 212=> 196=> 203=> 209=> 204, etc. etc. The display just goes bonkers.

It will do this consistently for about 10 minutes before I can finally get it to calm tf down by lifting the kettle, and placing it down again. It WILL eventually read 207 on the display, but I don't even trust that it's at proper temp? Maybe it is. Either way, it's very annoying.

I contacted Fellow for a replacement piece, and they first asked me to descale. Which didn't work. They then asked me for 50 dollars to replace, and I'm honestly just not keen on doing that. This is a pretty pricey item, and considering it's done nothing, but sit on my counter the entire time I've had it, I don't feel that's reasonable. To pay 1/3 the price of new for something that I don't feel is my fault.

So I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and what they've done to fix it? Honestly, between this, and the Carter mug, sometimes I feel like the QC at Fellow is lacking. I've read reviews of the Ode malfunctioning for quite a few people as well. It's very frustrating!
